New face of the dirty canvas bag

When my hair was dyed red I thought I will start using more colours in my outfits. The problem was I don't own much colourful clothes. One pair of red jeans, cyan collarshirt (which is way too thin for winter use), red collarshirt... few clothes which are out from greyscale but still low saturated. I tried out some weird combinations but soon I was back in these familiar colours. Or uncolours, as you can see. But my hair shines!

Last night I had perfect combination of inspirations and energy for doing something creative. I had one white canvas bag with some unwashable stains in it. Silver canvas paint did the trick to cover the eviden... I mean, the stain. It was not blood, I'm serious!

I had few plans what to do next. I don't have skills for painting breathtaking figures. Even drawing alphabets for templates was too tricky for me. I decided to use printer for that. Hooray for the computers!

The cutting process was killing me. I'm glad my idea for print wasn't too epic. Seven alphabets was enough. Can you already guess the text I'm going to paint?

Black canvas paint was used for this part. And then it was ready! I don't even want to tell how long I've been planning to do this diy project and how long this painting finally took. I should remember this and start doing more this kind of stuff. It's fun, easy and won't take all of my tumblring time.

And there I am, posing in the kitchen with my new canvas bag. The text 'Young and Gay' is from Austra's song with the same name. In one interview Lindsey Byrnes from AfterEllen asked Katie Stelmanis - vocalist of Austra - about this song. Here's one quote from that interview:
I originally wrote it as a tribute to an activist and artist named Will Munro from Toronto who died of brain cancer last year. He started a party in Toronto called Vazaleen over a decade ago that was one of the first queer gatherings to take place outside of the gay district. It was also one of the first where everyone was welcome, and everyone attended. Gays, lesbians, trans people, straight people, punks, clubbers etc. all enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of his events. He also happened to be one of the sweetest people you'd ever meet and knew everyone he crossed paths with by their first name. His influence and his parties completely changed the queer landscape of Toronto.

All in red

Seems like my hair colours are going in circles. I decided to end my blonde era and dye my hair with fire red - like I did one year ago. I think the result was more pink than red, but I dig it anyway. I've forgotten how eye-catching it is to have such shock coloured hair.

"It looks so pink it could be fake. Is it really our own hair?"
"You remind of Star Trek."

My creativity is living a half-life. There are some ideas floating in my mind but nothing particular. No pictures taken, no stories or poems written... A cheap mailorder muse from Thailand would be great! Just kidding...

I bought that concact lens two years ago but seems like it can still be used. My hair, my eye and  my medicine, all in same colour. How gorgeous!

November mornings

There's something very artistic in this time of year, but astill I just don't like autumns. Especially these last days of autumn. I'm trying to cheer myself up by finding the beauty of cold sunrises, dying colours and foggy nights. Charming, but still bit too suffocating for me.

Tuuli wanted to take some pictures with her nearly-forgotten 50mm objective and of course I wanted to join the game. That morning was perfect. Thin clouds were covering the most killing lights. My outfit was also a bit different, because I decided to look through Daniel's wardrobe. His style is more easy-going and street-ish than mine. Finally, this outfit included only jeans, scarf and hat from my wardrobe. At first I was a bit sceptic about wearing too much Union Jack, but it looks nice actually. I'm just too keen on greyscale...

We were randomly bouncing around Töölönlahti in Helsinki. I should wander there more often, the view wasn't bad at all! First we tried to go to Winter Garden but it was closed. Good that Töölönlahti was still giving nice locations for photographing. We found many eko-supportive writings on the street and huge stone tile, Memorial of Selfishness. It was full of names of people, who voted for nuclear power.

Tuuli laughed when she took this picture: "It's like from Hel-looks!" And I agree with that.

And here's Tuuli. I took this pic and suddenly fell in love with that objective. I think I need to start saving money for different kinds of objectives. *.*

These heels are gonna walk all over you

At the moment I'm living alone but after few weeks my friend VG is going to move in! Can't wait how exciting it would to live with that fierce bitch! He visited here last week and left his heels here to guard his future room. Of course I wanted to try them on. And here's the result. Shame that I can't actually walk properly with those...

Two months without any blogging? First I didn't have anything to write about. No nice outfits (I admit that usually I just forgot to take pictures, sorry), events or new releases from interesting bands or artists. Then I decided to resign from my school and that's why I had to return my school laptop and... I survived one month without computer!

Now I'm back in business. Last month was full of new releases: Ladytron, Zola Jesus, Björk and Regina. I think it's too late to write rewievs from them. But no worries, this month is also full of goodies. Angelspit released a new album few days ago. M83 and Skinny Puppy are also going to release something new. Can't wait!

Few weeks ago Laura wanted to take some pictures of me. That day was rather windy. Perfect weather for flying squirrel clothes. Nothing else to say. But aye, thanks!

Seems like I really need to practice some writing here. I'll promise to update my blog. Tomorrow. And day after tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Yum Yum

I usually hate "we went to party and here's some awful pictures about us" -kind-of-entries but seems like I'm doing it now! My blog is slipping to lifestyle-ish direction but I don't mind, actually. Being strickt would decrease amount of my entries here and that would be so boring. There's no rules at all.

My gorgeous friend Vagina Galore came to Helsinki last week. Oh how I've been missing him! I think it was October when we met last time. We had a fierce time, dolling up, hanging in the park with friends and checking few clubs (Jenny Woo and Dtm).

Here's some pictures from Thursday.

Let the music play and doll up your face, gurl! Here we are, ready for girls' night out. Check those pony boots of VaginaGalore. Aren't they just absolutely stunning?

Jenny Woo was kind of silent that night. Ok, we went there straight away when they opened the doors and left after few hours. It was perfect time for some pictures, though, because nobody was disturbing the shoots. And I loved the DJ, SpaceWitchPop was playing so good and not-so-mainstreamy music. I might be falling in love again - with Jenny.

I had a dream last night where my room mate cut my hair. I decided it was oneiromancy.

Don't forget to check VG's blog. There might be another post about that fabulous weekend incoming!

Most of my readers are from Finland, yes, but there's still strange amount of readers from Poland, Germany and so on. I also received some comments from UK. That was the sign. We all know how terrible Google Translator is and I think translations make blogs too messy. That's why I'll start to write only in English. I hope this won't tear down my verbal output, because I know Finnish better than English. Typoes incoming but who cares!

I'm not going to translate my previous entries. I added "finnish"-tag to them. So if you want to check how strange Finnish looks like, just go ahead.

Nothing too interesting happening in my life recently. I finally got some new piercings and... weird hair growing from my chin? D: Seems like I really need to crawl back to my cave. Grrrrrr...

Virpi took this picture few days ago. Thanks. <3
